I usually don't pay any attention to chain mail ramblings, they usually feel shallow and meaningless, but this really got to me, somehow it was exactly what I needed to hear right now. So I'm reposting what Chelle posted over at GW, to each and every one of you on my flist.
Life is too short to wake up with regrets.

In the fall of 2006 I had a decompression surgery done to relieve the pressure my brain was suffering from due to Arnold-Chiari malformation type 1. They removed a piece of the back of my scull and the backside of the two top vertebras.

Remember how they used to compare Sanctuary to comic books? Well I though I’d try some fan art on the subject and this is what I came up with. Not sure what to use them for though… I’d be really cool to make the entire series this way, like a magazine per episode. But oy, what a lot of work that would be… Maybe when they start selling time dilation doohickeys on eBay. :P

So there it is, my new tattoo! As the avid Sanctuary fan will see, the swibbly-swirly thing in the back is in fact from the Sanctuary logo and on top of that it spells out ÅLAND with the initial letter Å replaced by the Stargate symbol for point of origin for Earth. (It’s not much of a stretch since the two are virtually identical).
For those who don’t know, I’m from Åland, a little group of islands right between Sweden and Finland. One of the most beautiful places on earth btw. And even though I haven’t lived there for a few years (I currently reside in Sweden) Åland will always be my home, my point of origin. The place where I go and everything feels a little better, everything makes a little more sense, a little more… to put it simply, Åland is my sanctuary.
So I though it would be really cool to combine two of my favorite tv-shows, Sanctuary and Stargate, into something that symbolizes something that’s really important to me. That's a part of me.

Made some new Sanctuary fan art for once and though I’d make and open entry. I tried out making light effects from scratch using brushes and paths as templates. I call it light effects on steroids. :)

So the USIC poster is finally printed and on it’s way to Canada and Damian, Amanda, Martin and all the other cool guys who bring us Sanctuary! The poster included all the names/nicknames of those who participated making icons and helping out and I also attached a letter telling them how amazing, wonderful, generous and talented people you all are that made this project possible. :)

Anyone remember that insane project I started last summer where I wanted you to make 3481 Sanctuary icons and make a photo mosaic out of it? Well the mosaic is finally done! :)
Here’s a tiny preview:

Okay then, my first entry... Well since I got here to promote The Ultimate Sanctuary Icon Challenge in the first place I guess I'll continue on that road.
So The Ultimate Sanctuary Icon Challenge is a fan project where we'll make a photo mosaic out of 3481 Sanctuary icons. The goal is to then make the finished mosaic into a poster and sent it to S3M, you know those awesome guys who makes Sanctuary; Amanda Tapping, Damian Kindler and Martin Wood among others.
So we need every able handed man, woman, child, geek, deviant, weirdo and abnormal to make icons, lots and lots of icons.
